Schladming ist eine Stadtgemeinde im Bezirk Liezen in der Steiermark. Sie ist mit 6.548 Einwohnern die größte Kommune in der Expositur Gröbming und die zweitgrößte Stadt des Bezirkes. Demgegenüber stehen 43,8 % der Nächtigungen in der Sommersaison
Der größte Tourismusmagnet ist die 4-Berge-Skischaukel, die Schladming mit der Planai verbindet. Bekannt ist dieses Skigebiet vor allem durch das Nightrace, den Nachtslalom, dem alljährlich zirka 50.000 Besucher beiwohnen.
